The roots of John R. Reed, Inc. began to form in 1975 when John R. Reed began his trucking heritage with Reed Trucking Company by purchasing equipment and hiring drivers to service the transportation needs of the agricultural and construction markets. By the late 1970’s they were providing long haul services for more specialized products with dump and flatbed trailers. By 1983 Reed Trucking Company was incorporated as R. S. Reed and Sons, Inc. In 1989 the company began providing dry van services as well as flatbed for general commodities. In the 1990’s the fleet was increased significantly and better customer service opportunities and employment opportunities with benefits were being provided. When John R. Reed, Inc. was formed in 2001, another fleet expansion took place.

John R. Reed, Inc. currently has temperature-controlled capabilities to go along with their existing dry van and flatbed capabilities. John R. Reed, Inc. now operates a large fleet, diverse in equipment selection and services, and manages a broad range of nationwide customers. However, John R. Reed, Inc. still maintains the customer-driven values that characterized its operation from the beginning.

The roots of Reed Freight Services, Inc. began to form in 1975 when John R. Reed began his trucking heritage with Reed Trucking Company by purchasing equipment and hiring drivers to service the transportation needs of the agricultural and construction markets. After John R. Reed, Inc. was formed in 2001, Reed Freight Services, Inc. was added in 2002 out of a need for operation in more diverse lanes across the nation.

Reed Freight Services, Inc. currently operates as a third-party logistics provider and serves a major client base consisting of key players in the national production and distribution chain ranging from local small businesses to FortuneŽ 500 companies.

John R. Reed, Inc. is now owned by Reed Family Holdings, Inc., D.B.A. Reed Logistics. The holding company is wholly-owned by John R. Reed and Patsy Reed.
